What is Baby Wearing?
“Baby Wearing” simply describes when a parent or carer holds their baby or toddler by using either a cloth sling or structured baby carrier.
Interesting Fact! - The term ‘babywearing’ is a relatively new, but the practice of babywearing is as ancient as mankind, it has even been argued that the earliest baby carrier/sling (believed to be made from animal skins and/or plant fibres) should be considered as one of the first manmade tools! Our ancestors were quick to realise that the best way to keep their little one safe, warm/cool, and content whilst still being able to continue with their day was to wear their baby.
Over the years we seemed to have moved further away from this time-tested and traditional childrearing approach, but now baby carriers and slings are beginning to make their comeback!
